🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Express Displeasure About Size Updates Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change. Digital Channels Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Changes Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Experiences Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Manual Updates A different user, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she said. Service Background The app has more than 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
